Four All-MAAC Men’s Basketball Student-Athletes to Compete in 3X3U National Championship

EDISON, NJ – Four All-MAAC Men’s Basketball student-athletes are set to compete in the inaugural 3X3U National Championship. Canisius College senior forward Jermaine Crumpton, Fairfield University senior guard Tyler Nelson, Manhattan College duo of senior forward Zane Waterman, and senior guard Rich Williams will represent the MAAC in the national championship.  
 
Crumpton was named MAAC Co-Player of the Year and was a member of the All-MAAC First Team in 2017-18. The forward was most recently named an Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention. He finished the season averaging 17.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. The senior ranked tied for fifth in the conference in points per game, 10th in field goal percentage (48.1%), and tied for 11th in free-throw percentage (76.3%).
 
Nelson was the league’s leading scorer, averaging 22.2 points per game this season. The guard scored 30 or more points five times, the most among all MAAC men’s basketball student-athletes. Nelson scored a season-high 35 points at Marist on January 13 and has tallied 20-plus points on 19 occasions. The Bradford, MA native ranked first in the league in three-point field goals made per game (3.2) and first in minutes played per game (36.5).
 
Waterman averaged 11.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game en route to earning All-MAAC Second Team honors. He also registered 17 double-digit scoring performances, highlighted by a pair of 20-plus point games, and three double-doubles.
 
Williams averaged a team-leading 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game as he was named to the All-MAAC Second Team in his senior campaign. He also paced Manhattan with 23 double-digit scoring performances and nine 20-point games with a pair of double-doubles.
 
The 3X3 National Championship will begin on Friday, March 30 with 24 pool play games streamed live on Twitter from 7 p.m.-Midnight EST and will continue on Saturday, March 31 with another 24 pool play games streamed live on Twitter from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. EST. The event will conclude on Sunday, April 1 with the quarterfinals broadcast live on Twitter from 2-3 p.m. EST, and the semifinals, third-place game and championship game broadcast live on ESPN2 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. EST.
