Quinnipiac's Lai & Canisius' Hanes Obtain Golfer of the Week Honors

Women’s Golfer of the Week
Queenie Lai, Quinnipiac

Queenie Lai continued her strong freshman season by tying for fifth out of 70 competitors at the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate, hosted by Stetson on Saturday-Monday. Lai finished with a 75-78-76-229 for her third straight top 10 finish in her last three tournaments, with all seven of her rounds in that stretch between 75-78. She also finished the three-day tournament even on Par-3 holes, tying for the second-best in the field. This marks Lai’s third consecutive MAAC Women’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Men’s Golfer of the Week
David Hanes, Canisius

Sophomore David Hanes posted a three-round score of 217 to earn a tie for 27th at the FAU Spring Championship in Boca Raton, Fla., last week. Hanes carded scores of one-over 73 in each of the first two rounds, and then closed out the weekend with a two-under par score of 70 in the final round. His 54-hole score of 217 stands as the lowest three-round tally for his collegiate career.
