Hoskova and Rampado Named DI-AAA Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team
CLEVELAND, OH – A pair of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women’s basketball student-athletes were named to the DI-AAA Athletic Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team. The two student-athletes were Kamila Hoskova of Rider University and Victoria Rampado of Niagara University.
Basketball players from all Division I-AAA—non-football playing member schools of DI—ADA member institutions are eligible. Each nominee was required to maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.2 in undergraduate study and have been a starter or important reserve. Nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 50-percent of the team's games. To be eligible for nomination to the Scholar-Athlete Team, he/she must have reached junior academic standing at their institution. A special Review Committee of Division I-AAA Athletics Directors selected the winners.
Hoskova, who was a Second Team All-MAAC selection, helped the Broncs make the semifinals of the MAAC Championship. The senior finished her career with 1,255 points, which is the eighth-most in program history. This past season the Czech Republic native finished ninth in the league at 14.6 points per game and finished second from the charity stripe at 85.8-percent.
Rampado, who was the 2017-18 MAAC Player of the Year and unanimous First Team All-MAAC selection, led the Purple Eagles and the MAAC in scoring at 20.5 points per game. The Ontario native finished her senior season with 15 double-doubles and scored in the double figures in every game during the 2017-18 campaigns. Rampado finished her career with 1,823 points— a program record—and 909 career rebounds— a program record. This past season the senior established program records for points (629) and rebounds (306).
