Quinnipiac Clinches Fifth Straight MAAC Women's Tennis Regular Season Championship
EDISON, NJ – The four-time defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Tennis Champions, Quinnipiac University, has earned the 2018 MAAC Women’s Tennis Regular Season title. The Bobcats (13-6, 7-0) finish up their regular season slate against Middlebury College on Friday, April 20.
Quinnipiac clinched this year’s title with a 7-0 victory over Fairfield University earlier today. The Bobcats are led by junior Jennifer Lu, who took home 2017 MAAC Most Outstanding Player honors. Against conference rivals this season, Lu has yet to drop a set and is 6-0 from the No. 2 singles slot. Lu and teammate Proyfon Lohaphaisan, each recorded their 100
th career victories against Siena College on Saturday, April 14. As a team the Bobcats are 44-0 in conference play since entering the league back in 2013.
The MAAC Women’s Tennis Championship returns to the Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, New Jersey where Quinnipiac will enter the Championship as the No. 1 seed and take on the No. 4 seed in the quarterfinal match Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m. The other quarterfinal will feature the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds and also take place at 2 p.m. The Championship match will take place on Sunday April 29 at 2 p.m. For more information regarding the 2018 MAAC Women’s Tennis Championships visit
