Rider's Mihalik, Fairfield's Signore and Monmouth's Klepchick Collect MAAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Player of the Week
Riley Mihalik, Rider
Jr., First Base, Churchville, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy
Mihalik had a monster week as the Broncs went 3-1, highlighted by a sweep of hOURglass rival Saint Peter’s. In a three-game series with the Peacocks Mihalik hit .636 (7-for-11) with three home runs and 11 RBIs. On the week, four of his hits went for extra bases as he recorded an 1.200 slugging percentage. In the third game of the series with Saint Peter’s, Mihalik went 4-for-4 with a career-high six RBI.
Pitcher Player of the Week
John Signore, Fairfield
Jr., Pitcher, Wallingford, CT/Xavier
Signore fired a complete game three-hit shutout in Fairfield's seven inning win against the Jaspers. The junior struck out three in the 1-0 victory. The junior has allowed only one run over his last two outings—14 innings.
Rookie of the Week
Dan Klepchick, Monmouth
Fr., Pitcher, Warrington, PA/Central Bucks South
Klepchick went deeper into a game than any Hawk has this season, needing just 101 pitches to work eight clean innings. He did not walk a batter for a second consecutive start and fourth time this season and struck out nine, the most by a Hawk this season. He allowed just one earned run in the no decision.
