Quinnipiac's Cuomo & Monmouth's Phillips, Lode Earn MAAC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors
Offensive Player of the Week
Foster Cuomo, Quinnipiac
Jr., Attack, Oakville, Ontario/IMG (FL) Academy
Foster Cuomo led the Bobcats to a 14-11 road win at Detroit Mercy, he finished with six goals and two assists. The junior tallied four goals and two assists in the decisive fourth quarter alone, scoring the final four Bobcat goals of the game, two of which were while playing down a man, as the Bobcats improved to 2-0 in the MAAC and handed the Titans their first conference loss. The six goals and eight points both set new career-highs.
Defensive Player of the Week
Gordon Phillips, Monmouth
Jr., Long Stick Midfield, Port Coquittam/Trinity Pawling (NY)
Gordon Phillips picked up a career-high six ground balls in Monmouth’s 17-8 win over Siena. Phillips led the Hawks in that category and caused one turnover as Monmouth held its fourth consecutive opponent under 10 goals. Phillips also contributed on the offensive end with a pair of assists in the game.
Rookie of the Week
Noah Lode, Monmouth
Fr., Goalkeeper, Centreville, MD/Queen Anne’s County
Freshman goalkeeper Noah Lode turned in another strong performance for Monmouth in the Hawks’ 17-8 victory at Siena. The rookie made 15 saves and limited Siena to six goals in 52:33 for a .714 save percentage. He picked up one ground ball in the game as Monmouth improved to 2-1 in the MAAC. Lode leads the MAAC in goals-against average (8.73) and save percentage (.573).
