Albany Headed to Tallahassee for NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Golf Champion, the University at Albany is heading to Tallahassee, FL as announced by the NCAA on tonight’s Selection Show. The Tallahassee Regional will be played May 7-9, at Don Veller Seminole Golf Course & Club, Florida State University will serve as the host institution.
 
Albany took home its second MAAC Women’s Golf Championship last week, shooting a +57 (921) over the three-round championship. The Great Danes had all five golfers within the top 20, four of which made up the top 10. Annika Espino +26 (242) tied for 19th, Caroline Juillat and Helga Einarsdottir tied for 10th at +21 (237). Megan Henry finished third at +12 (228), and Annie Songeun Lee in first place with a score of +4 (220).
 
Lee captured her second individual championship, the last one coming in 2015 during Albany’s first MAAC Women’s Golf Championship. Lee was named 2018 MAAC Women’s Golf Most Outstanding Performer and McLeod Trophy recipient. Albany’s head coach, Colleen Cashman-McSween was named MAAC Coach of the Year for the second time.
 
24 teams and 12 individuals will advance to the National Championship at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, OK. More information on the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship can be found here.
