Quinnipiac Clinches 2018 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Regular Season Championship
EDISON, NJ – Quinnipiac University has secured the 2018 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Regular Season title and a perfect record (6-0) in conference play. The Bobcats will be the No. 1 overall seed in the MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship for the second time in the last three seasons. It is also the second time over the course of the last three years that Quinnipiac has ran the table in conference play.
The Bobcats defeated Marist College (3-12, 2-4 MAAC), 17-14, to close out their regular season slate. Senior midfield Brian Feldman and freshman attack Jake Tomsik tallied five goals apiece in today’s win. Quinnipiac’s 17 goals are the third-most scored in a game this season (scored 19 vs. Canisius on Apr. 14, scored 18 vs. NJIT on Mar. 3).
Senior midfield Will Vitelli controlled the X going 20-34 on face-offs, while junior attack Foster Cuomo notched six points (three goals, three assists).
The 2018 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship is hosted by Monmouth University at the brand-new
Kessler Stadium, May 3-5. All three games of the championship are set to air on the ESPN family of networks.
No. 1 seed Quinnipiac faces No. 4 seed Canisius College (6-8, 3-3 MAAC) in the first semifinal matchup of the championship on Thursday, May 3, at noon on ESPN+. It is the fourth time that the Bobcats have earned the No. 1 seed in the MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship.
