Marist's Mehalick and George and Monmouth's Corbliss Collect MAAC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards
Offensive Player of the Week
Samantha Mehalick, Marist
So., North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Township
Mehalick had a record breaking game against Siena, scoring a new career best eight goals—tying the Marist single-game record. She also broke the single-season record in the process and notched her 100th career goal. Mehalick ranks tenth in the nation in goals per game and has found the back of the net 60 times.
Defensive Player of the Week
Caroline Corbliss, Monmouth
Sr. Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge
Corbliss, a midfielder, made a number of defensive plays for Monmouth in their 16-11 win over Iona last Wednesday. In addition to tallying three points, Corbliss had a pair of caused turnovers and six ground balls for the Blue & White. Monmouth's defense allowed only four goals in the second half, including holding the Gaels scoreless for an 11-minute span as Monmouth built a 13-8 lead.
Rookie of the Week
Kelly George, Marist
Fr., Garden City, NY/Garden City
George continues to provide an offensive boost off the bench for the Red Foxes, scoring two goals and a career-high five assists against Siena. The freshman has dished out three or more assists in three out of the last four games.
