Women's Track Performer of the Week
Sara Gardner, Rider
Sr., Holland Township, NJ/Delaware Valley
Senior Sara Gardner had a record-breaking performance for the Rider University women’s track and field team last week at the 124th Penn Relays at Franklin Field. In the opening heats of the 100m hurdles she ran a time of 13.72 to qualify for the finals. In the finals, she set a new program record with an ECAC and likely NCAA-qualifying time of 13.51 in the event to finish in sixth overall. Her time was the second-best this season by a MAAC student-athlete.
Men's Track Performer of the Week
Dylan Capwell, Monmouth
Sr., Hapatcong, NJ/Hapatcong
Dylan Capwell won the 800 meters at the Lehigh Games by more than a second as he crossed the finish line in 1:52.5. He was also a part of the 4x400 that won the event in 3:23.35 at the Lehigh Games. He currently owes the top times in both of these events going into this weekend's championships.
Women's Field Performer of the Week
Alicia Hester, Monmouth
Sr., Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley
Alicia Hester started the weekend with a 9th place performance at the Penn Relays in the championship division for the hammer throw with a throw of 186'8". She returned to action the next day to break a school record in the hammer throw at the Lehigh Games with a mark of 189'5". This mark is currently the best in the conference going into this weekend's championships.
Men's Field Performer of the Week
Adam Maid, Rider
So., Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial
Sophomore Adam Maid continued his strong outdoor campaign for the Rider University men’s track and field team last week at the Lions Invitational hosted by TCNJ. Maid won the shot put with an IC4A-qualifying toss of 16.65m. The mark was a new collegiate-best for him and was the third-best throw by a MAAC student-athlete during the outdoor season
