Quinnipiac Women’s Tennis takes on No. 10 South Carolina in Opening Round of NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Quinnipiac University women’s tennis team will face No. 10 South Carolina in the opening round of the 2018 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championships as announced by the organization on Tuesday’s nights Selection Show.
 
Quinnipiac picked up its fifth consecutive MAAC Women’s Championship with a 4-1 over Marist College. The Bobcats clinched the title with wins at number one and number two singles that happened moments apart. Jennifer Lu secured the title with a 6-4, 6-2 win at number two singles. That followed Dominique Vasile’s win at number one singles 6-3, 6-2. Lu topped Marist’s Chloe Lant, and Vasile bested Julia Gabay.
 
Paula Miller took home 2018 MAAC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year after leading the Bobcats to their fifth straight regular season title. Quinnipiac’s Dominique Vasile was unanimously selected as the 2018 MAAC Player of the Year as well as being named MAAC Rookie of the Year.
 
South Carolina will make an appearance in NCAA Tournament for the 27th time in program history. The Gamecocks will host Quinnipiac on May 11th in the first round of 64, for more information on the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship visit ncaa.com.
