Four MAAC Women's Lacrosse Student-Athletes Collect IWLCA All-Region Honors

EDISON, NJ – The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced he 2018 Division I All-Region Teams on Friday and four MAAC student-athletes were honored.
 
Jen Reininger and Jourdan Roemer of Canisius College were named Second Team in the West/Midwest Region. Brenna Connolly of Fairfield University was named Second Team in the Northeast Region. Rachel MacCheyne from Niagara University earned Second Team in the West/Midwest Region.
 
Reininger was the 2018 MAAC Midfielder of the Year and helped the Golden Griffins make a ninth appearance in the MAAC Championship Game. The senior was fourth in the MAAC in goals with 50 and tied for seventh in points with 60. Roemer was the 2018 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year and led the MAAC in points (78). Both Reininger and Roemer were First Team All-MAAC selections.
 
Connolly helped Fairfield win its fourth MAAC Championship last weekend with a 14-10 win over Canisius. Connolly was a Second Team All-MAAC selection this season. The senior had 76 points and set a new Fairfield record with 41 helpers.
 
Rachel MacCheyne becomes the Purple Eagle to claim IWLCA All-Region honors. The junior totaled 75 points, which tied her own program record. MacCheyne was a First Team All-MAAC selection. MacCheyne led the MAAC in points per game at 4.24.
 
The 128 student-athletes who made all-region teams are eligible for the IWLCA All-American Team, which will be announced in June.
