Quinnipiac University (15-8) was defeated by No. 10 South Carolina (20-6) in the First Round of the 2018 NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship earlier today.
Quinnipiac Notes:
- The Bobcats duo of Payton Bradley and Jennifer Lu lost 6-1 at doubles one to South Carolina’s Hadley Berg and Paige Cline.
- At doubles three Quinnipiac’s Alex Mircea and Layla Rodriguez were defeated by the Gamecock’s Megan Davies and Rachel Rohrabacher.
- Courtney Nash was defeated by Silvia Chinellato in straight sets at number six singles (6-0, 6-2).
South Carolina Notes
- #34 ranked, Hadley Berg defeated Jennifer Lu 6-1, 6-0 to secure the third point for the Gamecocks.
- South Carolina will advance to the second round of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament for the fifth straight year.
- The Gamecocks will take on the University of Virginia, Saturday, May 12 at 2 p.m.
