Jacksonville Receives Seedings for 2018 NCAA Rowing Championship
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Rowing Champion, Jacksonville University are ranked 22
nd in the I Eight, II Eight, and I Four heading into the NCAA Championship.
Rankings were announced on Tuesday’s NCAA Selection Show.
Jacksonville earned the MAAC’s automatic qualifying bid after winning its fifth-straight MAAC Title last weekend. The Dolphins narrowly beat out Marist College in the II Varsity 8, crossing the line in 7:56.05, one second ahead of the Red Foxes. In the I Varsity 8, Jacksonville secured the title when they beat out Marist by two seconds, crossing the line in 7:16.67.
Jacksonville head coach Mike Lane was named the 2018 MAAC Coach of the Year. Jacksonville placed a league-best six student-athletes on the All-MAAC First and Second teams.
The 2018 NCAA Rowing Championships will be hosted by the University of Central Florida on May 25-27 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. For more information on the 2018 championship visit ncaa.com.
