Iona Men’s Golf & Siena’s Christifulli Conclude Season at NCAA Regionals

EDISON, NJ – The Iona College men’s golf team and Siena College’s Michael Christifulli wrapped up play at their respective NCAA Regionals earlier today.
 
Iona at Raleigh Regional:
Iona played three rounds at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State, shooting +52 (904) over three rounds. As a team, Iona recorded par on 150 holes, birdied 29, and eagled one.
 
The Gaels had all five golfers finish inside the top-75, highlighted by Justin Burkhamer, the 2018 MAAC Rookie of the Year, who ended round one tied for first at -7 (64). The freshman finished the regional +10 (234) in 67th, sinking 10 birdies over 54 holes.
 
Siena’s Christifulli at Pacific Regional:
The 2018 MAAC Most Outstanding Performer and McLeod Trophy winner, Michael Christifulli had his best round of the regional on Wednesday, shooting -1 (71), birding four holes on the back nine. His performance helped him climb three spots and finish 71st at +11 (227).
 
The NCAA Men’s Golf Championship continues with the National Championship held at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, OK, with Oklahoma State University will serve as the host institution. For more information visit, ncaa.com.
