Ferraioli Follows No Hitter With NCAA and MAAC Honors
NEW ROCHELLE, NY - After throwing the third no-hitter in Iona College baseball program history, sophomore
Mario Ferraioli has been tabbed both the NCAA Player of the Week and the MAAC Pitcher of the Week.
Ferraioli threw the third no-hitter in Iona program history on Saturday at Quinnipiac in the second game of the doubleheader with seven innings logged and 10 strikeouts in a 3-0 victory. The sophomore southpaw totaled 106 pitches on the afternoon with no hits allowed. The New Jersey native is now 3-0 on the season throughout 13 appearances with a 0.85 ERA behind 33 strikeouts in 31.2 innings pitched.
The Maroon & Gold return to the field Tuesday evening with a trip to Queens to face St. John's at 6 pm.
