Hughes and Wagner Named Pepsi MAAC Student-Athlete of the Week

Shaine Hughes put up a ridiculous .833 average this past weekend in a sweep over Manhattan. He went 10-for-12 at the plate, making just two outs in 14 plate appearances all weekend, with five RBI’s and five runs scored. He also made a dazzling defensive play with his bare hand on a roller down the third base line. On Saturday, he had a five-hit game, before scoring the game-winning run in Sunday’s contest.

Junior Captain Hailey Wagner of the Marist women’s lacrosse has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Female Student-Athlete of the Week.
Wagner has continued to fill up the Marist record book this season. She owns the single game, single season and career draw control record. The junior currently leads the nation in draw controls per game with 9.13. She sits at ninth with 48 career assists.
Wagner is a 2017 All-MAAC Second Team selection and 2016 All-Rookie Team selection. She had picked up MAAC Player of the Week Awards twice during her career. She has started in 51 games over the course of her career.
A 2017 MAAC All-Academic Team selection, Wagner is majoring in Biomedical Sciences.
