Player of the Week
Joe Drpich, Siena
Sr., Infield, South Salem, NY/John Jay Cross River
Drpich amassed a .556 batting average with a pair of home runs, 12 RBI, and four runs scored spanning four games last week for the Saints. The senior recorded a trio of three-plus hit games to go along with three four-RBI performances. Drpich went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI to lead the Saints past UMass Lowell in the non-conference finale Wednesday. In the series opener vs. Saint Peter's Thursday, he added three more hits and four RBI including a home run. He concluded the regular season with a four-hit performance, including a homer, against the Peacocks and four more RBI.
Pitcher Player of the Week
Matthew Brash, Niagara
Jr., Pitcher, Wallingford, CT/Xavier
Brash had a phenomenal day on the mound in the Purple Eagles' regular season finale against Manhattan. Brash went 8.2 innings—season-high, allowing only four hits and no earned runs. Brash struck out eight—tied career-high. He picked up the win, helping Niagara punch its ticket to the postseason with the 3-1 win over the Jaspers.
Rookie of the Week
Dan Klepchick, Monmouth
Fr., Pitcher, Warrington, PA/Central Bucks South
Klepchick struck out seven in just five innings, scattering seven singles and allowing one run while walking nobody in Monmouth’s 4-2 win over Fairfield on Friday, May 18. It was the fourth-straight start that the freshman right hander had allowed one earned run or less and lowered his ERA to 3.42.
