MAAC Softball Sees Four Earn All-ECAC Honors

DANBURY, CT - Four MAAC Softball student-athletes collected All-ECAC Honors as announced by the organization Thursday.
 
Marist College's Ali Milam and Monmouth University's Katie Baron picked up First Team honors. Fairfield University's Courtney Hankins and Monmouth's Amanda Riley made the Second Team.
 
Baron and Milam were First Team All-MAAC selections at designated player and outfield respectively. Both also earned All-Region honors from the NFCA. Baron helped Monmouth claim the program's first MAAC Regular Season and Championship titles. Baron led the MAAC with a .441 and was top three in the MAAC in hits, RBI, doubles, total bases, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage. Milam led the MAAC in home runs (11), and total bases (103), and led Marist in RBI (54), batting average (.355), home runs, total bases, on-base percentage (.443) and slugging percentage (.599).
 
Hankins was the 2018 MAAC Player of the Year, and Riley was the MAAC Pitcher of the Year. Both were First Team All-MAAC and NFCA All-Region selections as well. In league play, Hankins hit .491, which led the league, led in on-base percentage (.595), in slugging at (.818), and tied for the league lead with 45 total bases. Riley was 11-0 in conference regular season play with a 0.66 ERA and struck out 99 over 74.1 innings.
