Six MAAC Track & Field/Cross Country Student-Athletes Named to 2018 Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District Team
EDISON, NJ – Six Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Track & Field/Cross Country student-athletes were named to the 2018 Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District Team in District I. The Google Cloud Academic All-District® Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.
The six MAAC Student-athletes named to the team are Iona College’s Chartt Miller and Cassandra Gill, Manhattan College’s Love Litzell, Marist College’s Steven Rizzo, and Quinnipiac’s Jessica Lee and Emily Wolff.
Chartt Miller qualified for the 5,000 meter run in the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships (June 9-10) as he placed fourth with a time of 13:55.87 in the NCAA East Prelims. Miller graduates from Iona with a 3.94 GPA and a degree in information sciences.
Cassandra Gill recorded two top five finishes at the MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 10,000 and 5,000 meter run with times of 38:10.15 and 17:30.96 respectively. The senior graduated with a 4.00 GPA and a degree in information sciences.
Manhattan’s Love Litzell closed out his season this past weekend during the NCAA East Prelims. Litzell placed 30
th with a hammer throw of 60.99 meters. The senior graduated with a degree in business, sporting a 3.95 GPA.
Steven Rizzo competed in the 1,500 meter run at the 2018 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, crossing the line in 4:02.81 in 14
th place. The senior earned a degree in economics from Marist with a GPA of 3.95.
Jessica Lee completed her career with a 21
st place finish in the 100 meter hurdles during the NCAA East Prelims, clocking in at 13.74. The senior earned a degree in mathematics with a GPA of 3.66.
Emily Wolff’s 2017 cross country season was highlighted by an appearance in the NCAA Northeast Regional where she completed the 6k in 22:54.4 in 56
th place. The graduate student held a 3.98 GPA while studying health science.
