2018 MAAC Softball Field Set
EDISON, NJ – The 2018 MAAC Softball Championship Field has is finalized. This season’s championship will be held at MU Softball Park on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey from May 9-12.
Monmouth, who clinched the Regular Season Title on Saturday, finished at 29-14 overall, 19-1 in MAAC play and earned the top seed in the championship. It is the first regular season for Monmouth as a member of the MAAC and first since 1999—then in the Northeast Conference—for the Hawks.
The number two seed is Fairfield University (25-24, 15-5 MAAC) and Siena College (18-24, 13-7 MAAC) will be the number three seed. Fairfield enters the championship winners of nine straight. Siena comes into postseason play 3-3 over its last six.
Iona College and Manhattan will be the fourth and fifth seeds respectively. Iona finished the season at 11-9 in MAAC play and 19-25 overall. Manhattan concluded the regular season at 26-23 and 10-10 in MAAC play. Like Fairfield, Manhattan has also won nine-straight games.
The sixth seed goes to Marist College. The Red Foxes finished 9-11 in the MAAC and 24-30 overall. Marist won a tiebreaker over Quinnipiac to get the final spot.
