Gibson and Trifoso Claim Pepsi MAAC Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

Gibson hit his MAAC-leading 13th home run of the season on his Senior Day to help the Quinnipiac baseball team to a 6-3 series-opening win over Niagara on Saturday. Gibson hit a team-best .500 with six runs scored and three RBI over the three-game series, which the Bobcats won 2-1 to maintain their hold on first place in the MAAC. An Academic All-America nominee and MAAC All-Academic team selection, Gibson carries over a 3.5 GPA as a mechanical engineering major at Quinnipiac

Sarah Trifoso has been one of the team’s most consistent defensive players over the past four seasons, this year holding a .988 fielding percentage in the outfield, fifth-highest in the MAAC. Since April 21, she has gotten on base in 10 out of 12 games with an on-base percentage of .368 in that span. This weekend, Trifoso will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in Marketing & Finance.
