Each honoree will be profiled in the game program for the 2019 MAAC Basketball Championships and will be featured in a video display at “The MAAC Experience.”

Mike Buscetto ‘93
Buscetto remains Quinnipiac’s all-time assist leader 25 years after graduating in 1993. He finished his four-year career with a school-record 624 assists, and the closest anyone has come to approaching that mark since was Rob Monroe ’05, who graduated with 541 assists. In addition to his career totals, Buscetto is also the only player in school history to record 200 assists in a season, which he accomplished when he finished with 211 as a senior in 1992-93. His 189 assists as a sophomore also rank as the second-highest total in school history, while his 156 assists are tenth.

In addition to his playmaking skills, Buscetto also joined the Quinnipiac 1,000-point club his senior year and currently ranks 25th on the school’s scoring list with 1,165 points (after graduating in 12th place). He also still ranks second on the school’s all-time steals list with 195. As a senior, he was an honorable mention All-Northeast 10 Conference selection after averaging 14.8 points and 7.5 assists per game while leading Quinnipiac to a 16-13 record and a fourth-place finish.

Buscetto’s son, Mikey, will also be a member of the Northeast 10 Conference when he begins his collegiate career at Southern New Hampshire in the fall.

Erin Kerner ‘09
Kerner still holds her spot as Quinnipiac’s all-time leading scorer at the Division I level, tallying 1,799 points over her four seasons to average 16.5 points per game. She also ranks second in school history in all divisions, behind only the 1,855 points that Francine Perry scored from 1981-85 in Division II. Kerner also has three of the top five single-season scoring averages in Quinnipiac’s Division I history, averaging 17.9 in 2008-09, 17.7 in 2006-07 and 17.0 in 2007-08, and two of the top three single-game scoring outputs in the Bobcats’ Division I annals, tallying 37 points at Long Island University and 35 points at Yale.

In addition to her scoring prowess, Kerner also ranks in the top 10 in school history in both assists (342) and steals (211). Her 78 steals as a freshman ranks third on Quinnipiac’s single-season Division I list, while her .870 free throw percentage as a sophomore ranks fourth.

Kerner was an All-Northeast Conference selection all four seasons in her career, earning second-team honors as a freshman and sophomore, and first-team honors as a junior and senior. She was the first Bobcat to win her conference’s Rookie of the Year honors at the Division I level
