Bryant’s Jaarsma and Monmouth’s Millan & Okken named MAAC Field Hockey Players of the Week
Offensive Player of the Week
Elyssa Okken, Monmouth
Jr., Hellertown, Pa. / Saucon Valley
Okken started both games in a weekend that saw the Hawks split their opening weekend contests. Okken assisted on the Hawks' lone goal in the setback at No. 18 Saint Joseph's on Friday and capped off the weekend with the game-winning goal 6:02 in the overtime period. It marked the second career game-winning goal for the forward who helped MU extend its regular season winning streak at home to 21 games.
Defensive Player of the Week
Gabi Milan, Monmouth

Millian played all 146:02 minutes in cage for the Hawks during the opening weekend at No. 18 Saint Joseph’s and against Ohio. The sophomore keeper posted a combined 14 saves, including eight in the overtime victory over the Bobcats. The Australian compiled a 3.36 goals against average to go along with a .667 save percentage in the split weekend.
Rookie of the Week
Marijn Jaarsma, Bryant
Fr., Uithoorn, Netherlands / Alkwin Kollege
Jaarsma made four saves in her collegiate debut against UMass Lowell playing only one half. In the second game of her career, she played all 70 minutes and made 9 total saves against VCU and only allowed 2.
