Monmouth’s Mitchell & Rutkowski named MAAC Runners of the Week
Men’s Runner of the Week
Ryan Mitchell, Monmouth
Sr, Lansdale, PA/La Salle College HS
Ryan Mitchell won his first collegiate race ever at the Henry Mercer Monmouth Invitational by winning the 5-mile race in 27:02.77. He beat runners from Monmouth, Wagner and St. Francis Brooklyn on the challenging Holmdel Park course.
Women’s Runner of the Week
Christiana Rutkowski, Monmouth
Gr, Middletown, NJ/ Middletown South
The graduate student transfer from Seton Hall won her third straight race this weekend by winning the 5K at the Henry Mercer Monmouth Invitational. Rutkowski averaged a 6:08.5 mile and won the race by almost 50 seconds as she finished in a time of 19:04.87.
