Monmouth’s Hanna, Fairfield’s Rosen and LIU Brooklyn’s Wakeren tabbed MAAC Field Hockey Players of the Week
Offensive Player of the Week
Kelly Hanna, Monmouth
Sr., Seaville, NJ. / Ocean City
Hanna had a hand in both goals in the Hawks' 2-0 win over Hofstra. The senior assisted on Annick van Lange's game-winner in the 39th minute before giving the Hawks an insurance goal with three minutes to go in regulation. The senior now has over 60 career points to her credit. Hanna has now won two-straight Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Defensive Player of the Week
Zoe Rosen, Fairfield
So., Point Pleasant Beach, NJ / Monroe Township
The Stags were outshot by the Owls 14-15 and 7-8 on shots on goal but Rosen made all eight saves on the game to add to her solid start this season. Fairfield won 2-0 versus Temple on Sunday.
Rookie of the Week
Eva Van Wakeren, LIU Brooklyn
Fr., Blaricum, Netherlands / Laar and Berg
The first-year forward tallied a three-goal, six-point weekend for the LIU Brooklyn Field Hockey team. She picked up a multi-goal showing for her first collegiate goals at Appalachian State on Friday night. She found the back of the net in each half as the Mountaineers took the matchup 6-3. van Wakeren tallied her third goal of the weekend in the second half of Sunday's 5-2 loss to Davidson. She currently leads the team in goals and points.
