Player of the Week
Stella Johnson, Rider
Jr., Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic
Junior guard Stella Johnson had another impressive week for the Broncs as Rider won a pair of MAAC games. She averaged 20 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game as Rider improved to 3-0 in MAAC play for the first time in program history. Her best performance of the week came at Siena as she scored a game-high 25 points to go along with seven rebounds, four steals, three blocks and three assists. She was also 7-of-7 at the foul line against the Saints. Stella started her week with 15 points and 9 rebounds in a victory at Monmouth.
Rookie of the Week
Sydney Watkins, Manhattan
Fr., Wanaque, NJ/Saddle River Day
Watkins hit three from beyond the arc for the Jaspers in an OT battle at Siena on January 11. Her 11 points in a career-high 37 minutes was just one off the team-high of 12. She added two of the Jaspers 11 steals and two boards to her performance.
