Seven MAAC Schools Named to CSCAA Scholar All-America Team
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced today its Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2018 semester.
Of the 460 institutions selected throughout the NCAA, NAIA and the NJCAA divisions, seven schools from the MAAC qualified for the distinction.
To earn the honor, teams were required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the Fall Semester and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes.
For the men, four MAAC teams were represented. Marist College led the way with a team GPA of 3.27. Bryant University and Fairfield University both achieved a team GPA of 3.23, and Canisius College rounded out the men’s group with a GPA of 3.17.
For the women, six MAAC teams made the list. The Iona College women’s team had the highest GPA of all MAAC schools included on the list with a 3.57 team GPA. The Gaels were followed by Siena College who posted a 3.54 GPA. Monmouth University finished third among MAAC women’s teams with a GPA of 3.42. The final three schools for the MAAC women achieved nearly identical GPAs with Fairfield at 3.32, Canisius at 3.31 and Marist at 3.30.
