Rider’s Johnson and Fairfield’s Lopez-Senechal Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Award Winners
Player of the Week
Stella Johnson, Rider
Jr., Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic
Junior guard Stella Johnson played all 40 minutes and tied a career-high with 35 points as Rider erased a 14-point deficit to defeat Fairfield in conference play last week. Johnson shot 13-of-19 from the field, including 4-of-9 from three-point range for the Broncs. She dished out five assists to go along with four rebounds and one steal. It marked her second career MAAC game with over 30 points. She currently leads the MAAC in scoring (20.2 PPG) and steals (3.3 SPG).
Rookie of the Week
Lou Lopez-Senechal, Fairfield
Fr., Grenoble, France/NABA Academy
Lopez-Senechal averaged 13.5 points and shot .455 from the floor in Fairfield's two games this week. Lopez-Senechal reached double figures in both games, including a team-high 12 points at Quinnipiac. She did not miss a 3-point attempt at Rider, going 3-for-3 from behind the arc.
