Barker and Prochet Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

McKinzee Barker led the team with 16 points in the win over Iona on Friday night. The Hawks earned a 17-point victory in the MAAC opener, as Barker went 6-9 from the floor with five rebounds. The senior has been a contributor for all four years in West Long Branch, and has 103 games under her belt.
Marvin Prochet
Men’s Basketball
Niagara University
Marvin Prochet is having a career season so far for the Purple Eagles. He is averaging career-highs in points per game, rebounds per game, field goal percentage, and in 3-point field goal percentage.
He ranks amongst the conference leaders in points and in rebounds. He is on pace to surpass his career-best in double-doubles of eight, which he set last season, as he already has six double-doubles including starting the season with four straight double-doubles.
He became the 47
th member of Niagara’s 1,000-Point Club on December 16 and has been named MAAC Player of the Week twice. Prochet, who led the MAAC in rebounds per game last season, was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Third Team and to the All-Big 4 Second Team prior to the 2018-19 season.
Prochet, a three-time captain, is studying towards earning a degree in sports management.
