Manhattan’s Froehle and Marist’s Svensson Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Lorenzo Froehle
Manhattan College
Men’s Soccer
Froehle has returned to action in 2019 after missing the entire 2018 season due to injury and excelled for the Jaspers on the field. The senior has one goal and one assist on the season, including the game winning goal over Quinnipiac. Froehle is a two-time member of the MAAC All-Academic team.
 
Alexa Svensson
Marist College
Women’s Soccer
Svensson helped facilitate Marist's offense in wins over Niagara and Siena. On Oct. 9, she registered two first-half assists - one on a free kick and another on a corner kick. The latter moved her into a tie for first place on Marist's all-time assists list with 21. On October 12 at Siena, she inserted a corner kick that eventually led to the game deciding goal in the 1-0 Red Fox victory. On the season, Svensson has started all 14 games, racking up four assists and over 1,200 minutes.
 
Off the field, Svensson is an Athletic Training major who works with the football team. She is a two-time selection to the MAAC All-Academic Team & three-time selection to the MAAC Academic Honor Roll.
