Garrant, Lai Named MAAC Golfers of the Month for September
Men’s Golfer of the Month
Stanley Garrant, Saint Peter’s
Sr., Poughkeepsie, NY/Spackenkill
Senior golfer Stanley Garrant enjoyed a stellar September for the Peacocks, averaging an even-par score for the month at 70.50 strokes/round. Three of his four rounds were at or under par, and he placed in the top-20 of both events he participated in. He wound up tying for the tournament title at the Monmouth Invitational on Sept. 26 when he shot two-under 69, and he posted a pair of sub-70 scores, including a career-low 68 at The Doc Grimmler earlier in the month.
Women’s Golfer of the Month
Queenie Lai, Quinnipiac
Jr., Hong Kong, China/Sha Tin College
Queenie Lai earned two top-15 finishes in the month of September, placing T12 at the Boston College Intercollegiate and T14 at the Dartmouth Invitational. The junior shot final rounds of 71 and 72 at the two tournaments, leading her Quinnipiac team to two of the five lowest scores in program history and the lowest 54-hole score in program history.
