Player of the Week
Megan Fergus, Marist
Sr., Millbrook, NY/Millbrook
Fergus had another stellar week leading the Red Foxes' attack and helping lead Marist to a 2-0 week. She started by posting a 21 kill, 14 dig double-double on Saturday against Iona, and poured in a career-high four service aces to go with two total blocks. On Sunday, she smacked a career-high 24 kills, and tallied nine digs, falling just one dig short of another double-double. She had 45 kills in total for the week, 5.62 kills per set and 22.5 kills per match. She hit .333 for the week, and had 23 total digs, five total blocks, and four service aces on a .839 serve percentage.
Libero of the Week
Sophia Theriot, Marist
Fr., Carlsbad, CA/La Costa Canyon
The reigning Libero of the Week had another great week, helping anchor the Marist defense in what was an undefeated weekend. Theriot combined for 40 total digs and had a .955 reception percentage on the weekend. She averaged five digs per set and 20 digs per match. She also added 10 assists to help facilitate the offense.
Rookie of the Week
Morgan Romano, Rider
Fr., Oviedo, FL/Hagerty
Freshman Morgan Romano continued to be a force on the offensive end for the Broncs in a pair of MAAC wins last week. Romano averaged a double-double (18 kills & 11.5 digs) to go along with 5.14 kills per set, 5.57 points per set and 3.29 digs per set. She recorded her team-leading seventh double-double of the year in a four-set win at Iona thanks to a 22-kill, 15-dig performance. Romano followed that up with 14 kills and eight digs in a three-set sweep of hOURglass rival Saint Peter's. She leads the MAAC in kills (370), kills per set (4.51), points (418) and points per set (5.10).
