Monmouth Women’s Soccer Clinches Seventh-Straight MAAC Regular Season Title
EDISON, N.J. (Oct. 26, 2019) – Monmouth University (11-2-2, 9-0 MAAC) clinched the regular season title today following a 4-0 win over Rider University (8-4-4, 5-2-2). Monmouth will receive a first-round bye as the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship.
Monmouth opened the scoring less than 10 minutes into the match with a goal from junior defender Sarina Jones, the first of her career. Senior midfielder Lexi Palladino tacked on another goal midway through the first half to put the Hawks up 2-0, a lead they would take into the break. The Hawks bumped the lead to three with a tally from sophomore forward Lauren Karabin to start the second half. Sophomore Jill Conklin notched the final score of the game with 5:11 remaining on the clock.

The trio leads the league’s best offense, which has averaged 2.21 goals per game entering today’s match.
