MAAC Softball Honored by NFCA
Louisville, Ky. (Oct. 4, 2019) – Softball student-athletes from eight MAAC schools have been named Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athletes. The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association’s membership categories. Over 1,700 student-athletes from Division I were named to the list.
The MAAC is represented by 75 softball student-athletes. Manhattan College led the way with 14 student-athletes named to the list. The Jaspers ranked eight in all of Divison I with a team cumulative GPA of 3.630 for the 2018-19 academic year. Manhattan was followed followed by Iona College with 13 and Marist College with 12 student-athletes named to the list. Canisius College and Fairfield University had 11 and 9 student-athletes named to the list, respectively. Rider University and Siena College both had seven student-athletes named to the list, and Monmouth University rounded out the MAAC with two student-athletes.
