Junior Earns Distinction For Second-Straight Year

GREENWOOD, Indiana – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) placed Marist Women's Soccer junior forward Jillian Colucci on the 2019 Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Thursday.

Colucci garners the recognition for the second-consecutive season. She is one of two MAAC student-athletes to be named to an Academic All-District Team. The Port Jefferson, NY native is one of three forwards on the NCAA Division I District I team, which includes student-athletes from programs based in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

The junior has earned a 4.0 cumulative GPA while studying Mathematics Education at Marist. On the field, she collected a goal and two assists across 13 games, 12 of which were starts. Colucci advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Those honorees will be announced in early December.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games, completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution, and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
