WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University women's soccer senior goalkeeper Amanda Knaub was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® II Women's Soccer Team.

"Amanda has had an outstanding career in the classroom and on the field," head coach Krissy Turner stated. "This is a terrific honor for her and our program."

Knaub was recently named the MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year for the second time in her career after a terrific season in goal for Monmouth. The Hawks lead the nation in goals allowed (4) and goals-against average (0.228) and individually Knaub leads the NCAA in shutouts (13) and ranks fourth in save percentage (0.911).

In the classroom, Knaub has shined with a 3.98 cumulative grade-point average as a Criminal Justice major. Last season Knaub was named to the NSCAA/USC All-Region Scholar Team and is a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection.

Knaub is the fifth different Monmouth women's soccer player to earn the award and the first since Breynn Collazo in 2013. She joins Joanna DeMoor (2008), Ali Kliment (2009, 2010) and Andrea Lopez (2009) on the list of previous Monmouth recipients.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a starter or key reserve player for their respective teams, participate in at least 50-percent of the team's contests, own a 3.30 or better cumulative grade point average, reach sophomore athletic and academic standing and have attended at least one calendar year at their current institution.

The teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada, with District II including institutions from Washington, D.C., Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and New Jersey. Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

Knaub and Monmouth look to win their fourth consecutive MAAC Championship on Sunday against Fairfield at 4 p.m. at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.
