MAAC Announces Weekly Swimming & Diving Awards

Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Justin Carey, Rider
Sr., Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove
Senior Justin Carey was dominant once again in the poll for the Broncs last week as Rider defeated both La Salle and Delaware in a double dual. Carey won all four events in which he participated. He was part of the 200-medley relay that finished in first-place and was also the top finisher in the 100 back (50.62), 100 free (46.54) and the 100 fly (49.74). He currently has the top time in the MAAC in the 100 free, 50 back, 100 back and the 100 fly. Carey is currently ranked 24th in the country in the 50 back, 51st in the 100 back and 50th in the 100 fly.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Dillon Walles, Rider
Jr., The Woodlands, TX/ The Woodlands High School
Junior Dillon Walles had another strong performance on the boards last week as the Broncs defeated La Salle and Delaware in a double dual meet. Walles finished first in the 3M with a season-best mark of 343.50. He has won the 3M in all five of Rider’s meets this year. Last week, he also added a second-place finish in the 1M thanks to posting a score of 292.15.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Justine Drake, Saint Peter’s
Fr., Phillipsburg, NJ/ Phillipsburg
Justine Drake took three first-place wins against Manhattan and Kean; she competed – and won – in the 50-yard backstroke (28.77), one-meter diving (129.90), and 100-yard backstroke races (1:01:70). Drake was also part of the 200-medley that placed second (2:00:74).
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Meg Tomayko, Rider
Sr., Murfreesboro, TN/ Siegel
Senior Meg Tomayko had a solid day on the boards last week for the Broncs in a double dual meet against La Salle and Delaware. Tomayko won the 1M with a score of 254.40 and she also finished second in the 3M thanks to posting a mark of 226.95.
