MAAC Dominates MAAC/ASUN Challenge, Wins 6 of 8
Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Nov. 23, 2019) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) finishes the first edition of the MAAC/ASUN Challenge with six wins in eight games. The inaugural event was played at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World Resort.
Rider’s Stella Johnson earned MVP honors on the women’s side after averaging 40 points at the event. In Friday’s win over Lipscomb, the senior set the school’s single-game scoring record with 41 points. Johnson was nearly perfect at the line in that contest, making 17-of-18.
Tajuan Agee was named MVP on the men’s side after leading the Gaels to a 2-0 mark on the weekend. Agee recorded a double-double in both wins.
