Rider’s Bay and Saint Peter’s Richardson Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Bay finished the season with a goal and an assist, a year after finishing second on the team with three assists. The Junior started nine of 16 games played in the Rider midfield. Bay scored the go-ahead goal in the second half against Marist on Oct. 26 and assisted off a corner kick on Sylvain Coco’s goal on Oct. 16. The Webster, NY native also excelled in the classroom, posting a 3.89 GPA as a biochemistry major.

Richardson had a strong showing for the Peacocks last week, leading the Peacocks with a team-high 14.5 points per game average against NJIT and Delaware State. The sophomore tallied a season-high 15 points against NJIT on Dec. 4 while shooting an impressive 67 percent from the floor and shooting 50 percent from deep. Against Delaware State on Dec. 7, Richardson and teammate Gabrielle Harris led the team with 14 points apiece, while Richardson led the Peacocks with five boards on the day. Through six games, the New Brunswick, New Jersey, native leads the team in minutes per game with 31.8 per outing.
