FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Soccer junior captain Gabby Diodati was selected to the Scholar All-East Second Team by the United Soccer Coaches, becoming the program's first All-Region scholar selection since 2008. This recognition is one of several for Diodati this season as the junior was also named to the All-Region Third Team and the All-MAAC First Team for her success during the 2019 campaign.

Diodati helped the Stags in every facet of the game as the right back not only helped preserve eight shutouts for Fairfield, she also led the team in points. Diodati tallied five goals and tied for the conference lead with eight assists as she helped propel the Stags to the MAAC Championship match. The highlight of her campaign came in the MAAC Semifinal match against in-state rival Quinnipiac where she would tally the game-winning goal in a 1-0 Fairfield victory, clinching their first MAAC Championship match in five years.

Aside from her playmaking ability, Diodati was also the anchor for a Fairfield back four that posted eight shutouts, with seven coming in conference play. Those eight clean sheets was also the most by any Stags team in five seasons.

Diodati earns her scholar All-Region recognition after maintaining a 3.57 GPA as a psychology major. Fairfield is one of two MAAC schools represented on the All-Region list, with Monmouth University securing three student-athletes.

The Stags are coming off an 11-win campaign, their highest win total since the 2014 season.
