Niagara Sweeps MAAC Pepsi Zero Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards
Player of the Week
Jai Moore, Niagara
Sr., Brooklyn, NY/Midwood High
In Niagara's first win of the season against Oakland, Moore became the 25th player in Niagara women's basketball history to reach 1,000 career points. Moore needed 21 points going into the game and she scored exactly 21 points, leading the Purple Eagles in scoring. She also added five rebounds and three assists. Against Colgate on Sunday, Moore had 14 points, all of which she scored in the fourth quarter. She led the team in assists with three. On the week, she averaged 17.5 points per game, 2.5 rebounds per game and 2.5 assists per game.
Rookie of the Week
Adia Brisker, Niagara
Fr., Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills High
Brisker recorded the first double-double of her career in Niagara's win over Oakland on Monday, scoring 10 points and bringing down 10 rebounds. At Colgate on Sunday, Brisker led the Purple Eagles with eight rebounds. She also added seven points and two assists. On the week, she averaged 8.5 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game.
