Five from MAAC Men’s Soccer Earn All-Region Honors

Kansas City, Mo. (Dec. 9, 2019) – Five Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s soccer student-athletes have been named to 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s All-East Region teams.  
 
Iona College’s Malcolm Moreno, Saint Peter’s University’s Jordan Jowers and Dominic Laws and Quinnipiac University’s Eamon Whelan represent the MAAC on the All-East Region Second Team. Marist College’s Allen Gavilanes makes the list as a member of the Third Team.  
 
Moreno led the Gaels to the program’s first MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance after collecting Defensive Player of the Year and All-MAAC First Team honors.
 
Jowers and Laws were both unanimous picks for the All-MAAC First Team after leading Saint Peter’s to the regular season championship, a 9-1 conference record and a spot in the MAAC Championship Game. Laws also added Offensive Player of the Year to his list of accolades.
 
All-MAAC First Team selections Whelan and Gavilanes propelled their teams to the semifinals of the MAAC Championship.
