Quinnipiac’s Kuhn and Walters and Fairfield’s Mangan Win MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Allison Kuhn, Quinnipiac
Sr., Kingsville, MD/Roland Park County School
Kuhn opened the 2019 campaign in style with a five-goal, six-point performance against Stetson. Her fifth goal was the game-winner in double overtime. The six-point outburst moved her into 15th all-time on the Quinnipiac scoring list. The senior attempted ten shots, putting nine on goal, and added a ground ball and two draw controls to her outing.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Sami Walters, Quinnipiac
Gr., Linfield, PA/Spring-Ford
Walters made her Quinnipiac debut against Stetson by coming into the game at halftime and making a career-high nine saves in just over 33 minutes. The UMass transfer earned her first win as a Bobcat, 14-13, in double overtime. She made three saves in the final 5 minutes of regulation and overtime with the game tied at 13. The graduate student led all players with six ground balls in the game, despite only playing in the second half.

Rookie of the Week
Caroline Mangan, Fairfield
Fr., Bayville, NY/Locust Valley
Mangan was a stalwart on the backline in her Fairfield debut as the Stags posted a 13-9 win at Holy Cross on Saturday. She collected four ground balls and racked up five caused turnovers to keep the Crusaders' offense in check.
