Rider University Wins 2019 MAAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship for Eighth-Straight Year
BUFFALO, NY – At the end of the final day of competition, Rider University men hoisted the MAAC trophy after finishing first for the eighth-straight year. The Broncs scored a total of 781 points over the four-day competition.

Day 4 Highlights
- Rider won a total of ten events through four days of competition.
- On the final day of competition, Rider took home gold in the 1650 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, and 400 Medley Relay.
- Broncs senior Luke Musselman broke the MAAC Men’s 200 Backstroke record with a mark of 1:45.88. His first-place finish in the 200 Backstroke was his third win in the event in his collegiate career. Musselman was also a member of the record-breaking 400 Medley Relay team, along with Daniel Bonje, Justin Carey, and Vincent Gibbons, which recorded a time of 2:58.13.
- Junior Tavish Boyle ended the Bronc’s winning streak and swept the breaststroke events, capturing the league title in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 1:58.62.
- Bryant University’s Micah Ornelas broke his third MAAC record and third NCAA B cut in three days. The graduate transfer set a new conference record in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 1:45.88.
