Monmouth Women's Track & Field Wins Sixth Straight MAAC Indoor Title

NEW YORK, NY – For the sixth straight season the Monmouth University women’s track and field team are MAAC Indoor Track and Field Champions. The Hawks have won all six indoor championship meets they have competed in since entering the league.
 
Monmouth trailed Rider University by five and a half points coming into Sunday.

Day 2 Highlights
  • Lasma Padedze won the shot put on her final throw of the competition. The sophomore clipped second by 0.07m.
  • Monmouth had a 1-2 finish in the triple jump and the 800m.
  • Sarah Forman of Siena College edged Jessica Scheriff of Iona College at the line of the 3000m by 0.16 of a second.
  • Niasia Boone led a Manhattan College 1-2 finish in the 200m with Lisa Warfvinge.
  • Rider University took home both races at 60m in the dash and hurdles. Sarah Gardner was clear of the field by two tenths in the 60m hurdles and Cleopatra Morrison edged Warfvinge by 0.08 of a second in the 60m dash.
  • Marlo Wehrer won the 400m out of the second of the heats in the two-section final. The senior was part of 18 total points for Quinnipiac University.
