Offensive Player of the Week
Rachel MacCheyne, Niagara
Sr., Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder High School
MacCheyne opened the season with five goals against Saint Bonaventure, scoring four times in the first half. MacCheyne followed that up with a three-goal performance at Binghamton two days later to notch eight goals in the team's first week of play. The senior captain also won 20 draw controls and registered 14 shots to help the Purple Eagles get to 2-0.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kelly Horning, Fairfield
So., Laytonsville, MD/Academy of the Holy Cross
Kelly Horning helped control the action in the defensive midfield as Fairfield pulled off a 13-7 victory over UConn this past weekend. Horning scooped up a career-high six ground balls and also set a new personal best with four caused turnovers. The sophomore midfielder also contributed on the offensive end with two goals in the triumph.
Rookie of the Week
Maren Geiger, Niagara
Fr., Buffalo, NY/Nichols School
In her first two career starts in goal, Geiger made 20 saves on 30 shots to defeat Saint Bonaventure and Binghamton in the team's 2-0 opening week. Her first game against the Bonnies saw her give up just one goal, and through both games she picked up 11 ground balls, caused a turnover, and earned a 5.82 GAA.
