Player of the Week
Ali Milam, Marist
Jr., Goleta, CA/Dos Pueblos
In two games on Saturday, Milam had a 3.179 OPS (2.429 slugging, .750 on-base) as she homered three times and drove in 10 runs in Marist's victories over Saint Peter's and Big East foe Seton Hall. She went 5-for-7 with five runs scored, and all of her hits went for extra bases. She also added an outfield assist. Against Saint Peter's, Milam went 3-for-3 with seven RBIs, four runs scored, and two homers. Her fourth inning grand slam broke open a one-run game and helped lead Marist to a 13-3 triumph. Against Seton Hall, Milam homered again as she went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Pitcher of the Week
Alyssa Irons, Monmouth
So., Rock Creek, OH/Jefferson Area
Irons went 3-1 this week with a 1.12 ERA and two complete game shutouts. The sophomore pitched four complete games in FIU's Panther Invitational, tossing 25 total innings. Irons gave up just four earned runs and struck out 16 batters.
Rookie of the Week
Katie Kudlacik, Fairfield
Fr., Emerson, NJ/Paramus Catholic
Kudlacik struck out 10 hitters, allowed one earned run, and scattered four hits as the Stags upended host Campbell University over the weekend. The game was the left hander’s second appearance with the Stags, coming off a 2.2-inning stint against Oakland in the season opener. In that outing, the freshman added three more strikeouts to her weekly total, allowing one hit and one walk to her yearly totals. For the week, Kudlacik posted a 0.72 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 9.2 innings of work.
