MAAC Institutions Commemorate National Girls & Women in Sports Day
EDISON, NJ – Wednesday, February 6 is the 33rd Annual National Girl and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), a national observance celebrating the extraordinary achievements of women and girls in sports.
For more than three decades, the celebration has empowered women and girls to get moving, garner the benefits of physical activity, push past their limits both in sports and life.
The theme for this year is
Lead Her Forward, to honor the many ways that sports push girls and women to achieve excellence and realize their boundless potential. NSWSD highlights the influence Title IX has brought to female sport since it was enacted in 1972. This year, NGWSD celebrates all the girls and women across the nation leading us forward to a bright future.
Check out on how MAAC Institutions took to

Monmouth hosted a
Women’s Leadership Luncheon to honor high school students for their leadership skills and 12 Monmouth women student-athletes based on community service, academic and contributions on the playing field. Quinnipiac hosted NGWSD last weekend with a program around both women’s ice hockey and women’s basketball home games.
