St. Francis Brooklyn’s Snelgar, Marist’s Horvatich, and Wagner’s Diaz Alvarez Win MAAC Water Polo Weekly Awards
Offensive Player of the Week
Kelsey Snelgar, St. Francis Brooklyn

Snelgar tallied 21 points (14 goals and seven assists) in a 2-0 weekend for the Terriers. The sophomore began the week with and eight-goal and three-assist performance in a 24-3 win over Connecticut College. In the second game of the day on Sunday, she scored six goals and dished out four assists in a 32-3 triumph over Utica College.
Defensive Player of the Week
Carsen Horvatich, Marist
Jr., Westlake Village, CA/Westlake
In 3.25 games, Horvatich made 26 saves for a save percentage of .406 against ranked competition. The junior made 13 saves for a stellar save percentage of .542 in a narrow loss to No. 16 Wagner.
Rookie of the Week
Sofia Diaz Alvarez, Wagner
Fr., Madrid, Spain/i.e.s Ortega y Gasset
Diaz Alvarez scored 12 goals and tallied eight assists for 20 points in five games over the weekend in helping the Seahawks to a 3-2 record. The first-year Seahawk drew six exclusions, had seven steals, and three field blocks.
